Nahe

The Nahe wine region is named after the river that traverses the valleys of the forested Hunsrück Hills as it gently flows toward Bingen on the rhine.
It is a peaceful landscape of vineyards, orchards and meadows interspersed with cliffs and striking geological formations. Although Nahe is one of the smaller wine regions, it’s extraordinary range of soil types is second to none.
The steeper sites of volcanic stone and those with red, clayish slate are predestined for elegant, piquant and spicy Riesling, one of the predominant varieties planted in the Nahe wine region. Flatter sites of loam, loess and sandy soils are perfect conditions for Müller-Thurgau (Rivaner), Silvaner, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc.
Wines from the Nahe region are fragrant, subtly racy, fruity and full of flavour
