Stefan Potzinger

The estate of the family Potzinger in Gabersdorf dates back to the 16th century. In 1860, the family bought the vinters house in Ratsch, and since then, winemaking has been their family tradition for over 150 years.
Stefan Potzinger took over in 1997 after completing his education from the famous wine academy in Klosterneuburg and several practical trainings in various other wine regions and countries. He aims to create natural Styrian wines of highest quality. “Grown not Made” is his credo.
Integrated cultivation, selective hand-picked harvesting and the assembly in stainless steel vats guarantee the right quality of his wines. In this regard, the winery abstains from using enhancements as well as tannin and acidity corrections. Potzinger wines age well and are ideal companions for great food.
Hugh Johnson’s Pocket Wine Book 2013 named Stefan Potzinger amongst the best winemakers in Southern Styria.
