Southern Styria

Styria, otherwise known as Steiermark, is the southern-most wine-producing region in Austria. The focus of this region is on whites rather than reds. The climate is largely Mediterranean, which gives this area also the name “Tuscany of Austria”.
A specialised focus on Sauvignon Blanc is complimented with other white varieties such as Chardonnay (known as Morillon here), Welschriesling, Gelber Muskateller, Traminer, Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris, Ruländer) and Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc).
The wines from this region are full-bodied and rich in minerality.
