Proidl

The winery lies at the beginning of the wine region Kremstal. Family Proidl grows Grüner Veltliner on half of their wine area of 20 hectares. One-third is planted with Riesling and the smaller areas with Gelber Muskateller, Traminer and Chardonnay. Their portfolio is rounded up by the reds Blauer Zweigelt, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, primarily growing on the higher plains.

Gault&Millau in 2013 quoted: Franz Proidl is the man for special purpose. He is not interested in mainstream but keen in extravagance and exploring the potential. His wines are always challenging but a class of its own.
